Delighted our Chairman, Roy McKeown, received a “Heritage Angel 2024” award from the Northern Ireland Architectural Heritage for the “Best Rescue of a Building or Place”.

Restoring the Raceview Water Wheel – together with the existing displays of two water turbines, helping explain Raceview Mill’s historical dependence on Renewable Energy. the water wheel is the tallest in Ireland still capable of being run by water.
Project with local primary school in education, research and in collecting heritage and stories connected to Raceview Mill.
Children interviewing folk at the mill who worked there when it was a Woollen Mill, now long retired.
Creating a heritage gallery at the entrance to the mill – telling the story of renewable energy at Raceview Mill and how the Mill has been rescued and restored. Also displaying the research done by the children (with the help of Lottery Heritage Fund).

Providing space for artists to work and exhibit and art materials to aspiring young artists.
